SPECIAL 7-STEP ANGLED DOCK LADDER Because the AQUASTAIRS 5-step dock ladder is our most popular swim ladder, we designed the Special 7-step angled dock ladder to meet the needs and requests of our customers with special needs. Although the name suggests that this is our longest dock ladder, it has the same vertical drop as the 5-step dock ladder, with seven steps more closely spaced in the body of a 5- step dock ladder. It also includes taller loop handles to make it easier to use.
The 6-step AQUASTAIRS ONLINE STORE® dock ladder is our longest model. That being said, we do have a Special 8-step ladder that is not listed on the website and would require a phone call; it has a 6-foot vertical drop and is similar to the Special 7-step ladder but with two more steps.
Special 7-step AQUASTAIRS ONLINE STORE® dock ladders are intended for people and pets who have difficulty lifting their legs on dock steps. Because the stair steps are set at 8-1/2′′ increments rather than the standard 12′′ increments on dock ladders, people who are elderly, have knee replacements, hip replacements, or other complicating issues may find this ladder easier to negotiate. Some customers jokingly refer to it as the AARP® ladder but say they would not or could not swim without it. Other customers prefer this as a small dog ladder option. The staircase design, like all AQUASTAIRS ONLINE STORE® ladders, has allowed people and dogs to get out of the water where conventional, vertical ladders with small steps would not have allowed.
AQUASTAIRS ONLINE STORE® is the leading manufacturer of high-quality aluminum dock ladders for people. Our marine ladders are also ideal dock ladders for dogs. Dock ladders for dogs are popular because your canine companion can easily walk up these dock steps. Given its staircase design, it can even help as a disability ladder for some people with handicap needs. These dock ladders are intended for use where the mounting surface is no more than 24 inches above the water; otherwise, this 4 step ladder would likely be too short to comfortably get out of the water; unless the lake bed is close enough to stand on. Even at 24″, most customers prefer the 5 step dock ladders with more steps under water to make it easier to get out.
